UTR (Universal Tennis Rating)
UTR stands for Universal Tennis Rating. It is a global tennis player rating system intended to produce an objective, consistent, and accurate index of players’ skill in the game of tennis.UTR rates all players on a single 16-point scale, without regard to age, gender, nationality, or locale of a given match. The UTR rating is based on a player’s historical match results. The more matches a player plays, the more accurate their UTR rating will be.UTR ratings are updated daily, so players can track their progress over time.

How does UTR work?
-
The UTR rating is calculated using a complex algorithm that takes into account the following factors:
-
The results of the match
-
The ratings of the players involved in the match
-
The location of the match
-
The surface of the court
-
The age and gender of the players. The UTR rating is a weighted average of up to 30 of a player’s most recent match ratings. Only matches within the last 12 months count toward a player’s UTR rating.
